California families deserve fairness from the companies they trust with their money, their health, and their data. Too often, insurance companies, financial institutions, and tech firms prioritize profits over people, using hidden fees, discriminatory practices, or opaque algorithms that leave everyday workers and families at a disadvantage. As governor, I will strengthen oversight, hold companies accountable, and ensure consumers have clear protections, transparent pricing, and real avenues to appeal unfair decisions. Everyone should be able to access coverage and services without fear of bias or exploitation.

At the same time, we must embrace innovation responsibly. Emerging technologies like AI can improve services—but only if they are transparent, ethical, and accountable. My administration will require human review when AI affects pricing or coverage, prevent algorithmic discrimination, and create state oversight to protect consumers while supporting responsible innovation. By prioritizing protections for workers, seniors, renters, and low-income households, California can ensure the benefits of technology and economic growth reach everyone, not just the top, proving that progress and fairness can go hand in hand.
